Cristal Union renews its strategic partnership with the Mauritius Sugar Syndicate
This multi-year partnership guarantees high-quality Mauritian sugar preferential access to the European market.
On the occasion of French President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to Mauritius, the French sugar group Cristal Union and its commercial subsidiary Cristalco have announced the renewal of the partnership with the Mauritius Sugar Syndicate for a further three years.
Accompanied by Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, Emmanuel Macron welcomed this strategic renewal in front of the press, confirming the desire to support the development of the local sugar industry.

The agreement was signed today by Xavier Astolfi, Managing Director of Cristal Union, and Devesh Dukhira, CEO of the Mauritius Sugar Syndicate (MSS).
Through this partnership, Cristalco, a commercial subsidiary of Cristal Union, will have the exclusive rights to market white cane sugar and special high-quality sustainable sugar from Mauritius, in particular in France, Spain and Italy.
Beyond the simple trade agreement, Cristal Union and Cristalco work closely with all Mauritian producers, through the Sugar Syndicate, in an approach of continuous improvement and increasingly direct relations between producers and end customers.
