Cristal Union acquires the Nangis sugar factory

Cristal Union announces the acquisition of all shares of the company Lesaffre Frères, including those held by Tereos. This transaction follows the unconditional authorization granted on 29 August by the French Competition Authority. The Nangis sugar factory in Seine‑et‑Marne becomes now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cristal Union cooperative Group.

As a result, Cristal Union is integrating into its operations a robust, high‑performing site with high‑level decarbonization facilities and expert teams. By joining Cristal Union, the Nangis sugar factory gains access to the financial and human resources it requires to address new challenges, particularly in the area of CSR.

This acquisition also supports the development of beet cultivation across the southern Paris region.

The Nangis sugar factory’s operations will be maintained along with its current workforce.

Product marketing will remain under the responsibility of Cristalco, Cristal Union’s commercial subsidiary, as it has been since 2006.
